Rabastens, less than 10 minutes from La Maison des Amis, is a charming C13th bastide town on the precipitous banks of the Tarn. There is a magnificent Romanesque church with frescos and painted ceiling. Put in one Euro, and all is illuminated. Close by is the local museum, with paintings, archaeological section, ceramics and a small fashion/textile exhibit. La Cave de Rabastens is the local wine co-op and is highly regarded throughout France.
